LAS VEGAS — Police in Nevada are investigating the death of a woman found frozen inside a cryotherapy chamber.

Chelsea Ake was trapped in the chamber for at least 10 hours at a clinic in Las Vegas that offers cryotherapy.

The therapy has been used to reduce inflammation, slow signs of aging and help heal sports injuries.

Police say Ake used the machine last week without assistance and likely suffocated. Her death was attributed to an “operator error.”
