NEW YORK–Fashion is usually about the clothes.

The accessories.

The hair.

As far as fingernails go, the main thing is to be sure the color matches–or at least doesn’t clash with–the rest of the outfit. Right?

That just changed.

At New York Fashion Week, the “Libertine” clothing line showed off “Furry Fingernails.”

Sounds gross, when you first think about it, doesn’t it?

Maybe some pictures will help.

Or not.

Yeah, some of these kinda look like Nuvo Retro Caveman, don’t they?

Or maybe something you’d see in a Dr. Seuss book?

Anyway, all the rage on Instagram.

Apparently, to use “Furry Fingernails,” you paint your nails a neutral shade, then add a clear super glossy coat, then press the fuzziness into the polish.

Hey, at least you don’t have to worry about breaking them, right?
