DARTFORD, England — We’ve all seen stories about nursing mothers being shamed for breastfeeding in public places; there are some pretty bold people out there, right?? And while we also see strong moms standing their ground, a mom (mum?) in Dartford, England took it to a whole new level last week.

On a community Facebook page for the London borough of Dartford, an anonymous woman posted an open letter to the mother who had, apparently, pointed her nipple and sprayed breast milk on the woman — a reaction to the mother being asked to nurse her baby somewhere private.

The post begins:

“To the lady [at] Dartford park who thought it was appropriate to breastfeed her baby whist [sic] my child and very easily distracted husband sat near by.”

“Very easily distracted husband sat near by.” So THAT must be the first problem. Her husband is easily distracted. Methinks this has very little to do with public breastfeeding.

The woman continues in her post:

“I don’t think it was necessary for you to react the way you did just because I asked you to go somewhere private, telling me to f— off and squirting me with your boobs was incredibly uncalled for.”

Where’s a surveillance camera when you need it??

The woman closes her post by saying:

“I hope you are ashamed of yourself!”

Ma’am, we agree wholeheartedly that there should be strong feelings of shame… but they should be coming from your mirror.

NOT that we condone nursing mothers going around pointing boobs and shooting breast milk, because that’s a waste of perfectly good breast milk, right?

But there are exceptions, as in this case.

The poor anonymous breast milk-drenched (okay, perhaps a slight exaggeration) woman was pretty savagely roasted in the Facebook comments, but the mother also caught a little flack from those who thought her reaction was extreme.
