At his highest weight, John Glaude says he weighed in at 360 pounds — but that was before he got healthy and started working out. Now, he documents a whole new life on his YouTube channel, Obese to Beast. There, viewers can follow John’s physical and mental transformations.
The weight-lifting how-to videos or clips talking about building muscle don’t seem like they were too tough for John, but one subject that took him a little longer to tackle was skin. Lots of it. In a recently posted video, John decides it’s time to talk about — and show — what he calls his biggest insecurity. This is what losing 160 pounds does to a body.
Where does all that extra skin go? Nowhere.
“The main reason I wanted to make this video,” John says as he’s pulling fold after fold of loose skin,” I want to show people that yes, obviously, this is not ideal, right? This is not what I would have wanted after losing 160 pounds, right? I would have wanted to have a perfect body, right? But that’s not the case. And that’s okay,” he says.
He’s young, healthy, happy, handsome, he loves the skin he’s in, and wants he everyone else to feel the same way.
“I want you guys to understand that. I want people watching this video to understand that you should never let loose skin or anything else stop you from going for your dreams. My dreams are to be very happy in my skin. And I am,” he says.
Doesn’t get any better than that.
