DALLAS -- It's been a hard week for the family of 18-year-old Zoe Hastings, the oldest of five kids. Her parents released a video talking about their daughter who was found murdered in the family's minivan Monday morning.

"She was a good big sister. It wasn't a chore to have these little siblings running around," her dad Jim Hastings said.

On Thursday, folks flooded the Casa Linda neighborhood where Zoe's body was discovered, handing out fliers, hoping for information that leads to her killer.

Her family is trying to keep Zoe's spirit alive, sharing a story about their vivacious daughter.

"She put a note out on our mailbox. [It was a questionnaire for our mailman] and it said, Dear Mr. Mailman, I want to know about you. What's your favorite drink? What's your favorite candy bar? She just wanted to know things that she could give to him to kinda brighten his day," mom Cheryl Hastings said.

Her parents say the recent Booker T. Washington graduate wanted to help people through missionary work with her church and hoped to be a doctor.

"She was real excited about going to medical school. She would go to the library and read books about surgery. She thought she wanted to do heart surgery or brain surgery."

Cops say the last place they know Zoe stopped was at a Redbox in front of Walgreens Sunday evening. She then headed to church but never made it. They don't know what happened during that seven-minute drive.

Zoe's funeral will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Lake Highlands Drive.

Her parents shared one of Zoe's last videos to her sister.

"Olive, I love you," she said. "Stop crying for mommy"
