Social media is going wild. Harry Potter is back in a new online story, but his signature boy wizard image isn’t.
J.K. Rowling just released a new story on her website Tuesday about Potter as a 34-year-old married man who’s going gray.
That’s right, he’s old and gray.
It details the lives of Harry Potter, Hermoine Granger and Ron Weasley years after their adventures at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardly. Along with gray hair, Harry also has a mysterious cut on his cheekbone, related to his “top secret” work as an evil-battling Auror.
It’s the first update since “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” was published in 2007.
But don’t get too excited just yet. Rowling spokesman Mark Hutchinson said there are “no plans” for a new Potter novel.
We may just have to work up a spell to make that happen.
