DALLAS — A killer is on the run after murdering a dentist inside a luxury Uptown Dallas residential parking garage Wednesday night.

Dallas PD says 35-year-old Kendra Hatcher was found shot to death at the Gables Park 17 apartments on Cedar Springs near McKinney Avenue and Akard.

“At some time before she arrived, we believe a vehicle of interest entered that same parking garage by piggybacking or following another vehicle into the garage. That vehicle parked and waited in a parking space,” Dallas PD Major Max Geron said.

The vehicle of interest is an older model Jeep Cherokee with a faded hood and paper buyer tags. Cops say the suspect waited until Kendra got out of her car, approached her, then opened fire.

For Kelly Yosten, the alarming crime is a wake-up call. She works in the area and uses the garage every day.

“I’m definitely more aware,” Yosten told NewsFix. “It is kinda shocking it happened in the same garage I park in.”

The parking garage is gated and access is only granted with a security fob. Yet, even Kelly knows, “Most of the garages around here, I think foot traffic can enter. So, it’s always a concern.”

Also a concern, who’s behind the crime. Investigators were back at the scene Thursday gathering information and looking for leads.

“We have also increased uniform patrol in the area that complex there on Cedar Springs,” Maj. Geron said.

No word on a motive as cops search for the gunman. If you have any information about this case, contact the DPD Homicide Unit at 214-283-4818.
