ARLINGTON, TX -- Baseball is back!

Yeah, it’s been a long six month wait for Rangers fans to see the boys back in action, but patience pays off today!

Of course, Texas has to open the season on the west coast in Oakland. Long time fans know what that means: this game won't be wrapping up until after midnight! So will the Rangers Republic be night owls for opening day?

“I will be. Hopefully, he won’t.” one fan said about his young son, “But I’m gonna DVR so he can watch it and get ready for Friday.”

“Absolutely! Can’t miss opening night!” said Rangers fan Clint Clark.

Well, will that excitement stay? Last season’s miserable campaign saw the average attendance drop by over 5,000 fans a game from 2013.

So will the hangover last into 2015?

Well so far signs are good for this season. Friday’s exhibition against the Mets drew over 20,000 fans, which is more than three MLB teams averaged per game last year.

And this was just a meaningless spring game!

It also looks like the home opener should be a jam-packed sell out! Less than 4,000 tickets are available at ticket re-sell sites, and a lot of those are standing room only!

So as long as this club keeps winning, well, in those immortal “Field of Dreams” words: “They will come!”

Hey, and like the season’s motto says, Texas fans never, ever quit on their team!

Don't Miss
