DALLAS — We love that song, “Going Up on a Tuesday!” Well, good news DFW. There’s something else going up in the next couple of weeks — speed limits.

That’s right, drivers will start seeing the speed limit numbers change on a few highways in North Texas.

  • I-30 between LBJ and Rockwall will go from 60 to 65.
  • The speed limit on I-20 in Tarrant County will accelerate to 70.
  • Highway 75 between McKinney and the High Five will increase by 10mph.

Bet all the people feeling the need for speed will really high-five that!

Ok, let’s keep it real. Considering how slow and congested traffic is on most of these highways, can we really get excited about this? 75 is basically a parking lot when rush hour hits.

And these days, is it even possible to hit 30 on I-30?!

Hate to rain on this parade but this whole speed limit change isn’t going to change the amount of time you sit in traffic!
