DALLAS  -- In Texas, the only match for the size of our appetites is the size of the state itself, but who can blame us? The Lone Star State offers some of the best food in the country.

And now, it's official. Zagat, the popular restaurant guide, has recognized one Texas city in its year-end Top 17 Food Cities of 2015 list. And it's not Austin, Houston or San Antonio. Dallas was the only Texas city to make the list... coming in at number 9.

So, how did the big d leave the rest of the Texas cities in the dust? Zagat specifically recognized Deep Ellum newbie Filament and Lower Greenville restaurants Rapscallion and Remedy.

And what's a Texas food list in without tacos? Austin transplant Tacodeli got the nod in that department.

Some of the cities that beat out Dallas to round out the top 10 were San Francisco at number 7, Boston was ranked 5th, NYC rang in at 4th. And the top 3 were Washington D.C., Baltimore and at the top of the list was Pittsburgh.

Surprisingly absent from the list was New Orleans, something Cajuns are sure to be fired up about.
