LAKE ALLATOONA, GA- What was supposed to be a silly, teenage game ended a Georgia teen’s life just hours after his high school graduation.   Eighteen year-old Chance Werner  was playing an unusual game with his friends at a local lake– tying a shopping cart to a tree, then pushing the cart with someone in it into the lake.

But something went terribly wrong.

Somehow Werner– the father of a seven month old baby– was tied directly to the cart which was pushed into the lake, and dragged down into the water. His body was found hours later, under 30 feet of water and still tied to the cart.

Werner’s family is devastated.

A reminder when you start heading to the lake over the summer, folks. Watch the alcohol, the high speed, and things that don’t belong in the water, should stay out of the water. Don’t make a mistake by the lake.
