NEW YORK -- The new leader of "The Daily Show" finally made his debut Monday night. Trevor Noah opened with appreciation for his new TV family.

“Now the family has a new stepdad, and he's Black.”

But even though the audience seemed to enjoy the punchlines, reviews of Trevor's debut were mixed. Entertainment site Deadline described the debut as “mostly flat” while an article from The Guardian described Noah's interview with comedian Kevin Hart as “toothless and unironic.”

But the reception was mostly positive with Trevor receiving high marks from other publications and fellow comedians.

But "Daily Show" fans need not worry because even though the guy behind the desk has changed, Noah says the mission is still the same, which is to “Continue the war on bull****!”
