AUSTIN, TX -- It was the biggest, boldest, most hardcore protest the University of Texas has ever seen. You’ve probably heard about the protest over the new "campus carry" law. It allows anyone with a permit to walk around a Texas university and pack some heat.
So, a group decided to carry their own heat: over 4,000 sex toys!

That likely made for some awkward conversations or jokes that ended with the phrase “longhorn.” Obviously, the sex toy, anti-gun people were trying to get noticed and raise some serious questions about guns on campus.

You would think the gun folks would be ‘glocked and bothered’ by this. Well, you'd also be wrong. A pro-gun group at UT embraced the sex toys! It welcomed the 'free speech.' They’re even selling t-shirts with the word “coexist” written on them.

We can learn from this. Have you ever stood in the middle of a protest over abortion, immigration, or Trump vs. Clinton? You can taste the anger between each side.

But what if someone on either side brought a prop to lighten  the mood?  Imagine if a loud,  obnoxious person carried a puppy. Better yet, imagine if everyone who represented an issue you despised, carried a cute dog.  Perhaps you’d  dial down the rhetoric.

You might not agree with what they are saying, but like sex toys, you could relieve the tension.
