EVANSTON, IL– One of the great mysteries of the universe has been solved.  Not the mystery of space aliens or Bigfoot. The truth is really out there about… Dad bods. Research out of Northwestern University scientifically confirms the typical six-foot man gains between 3.5 and 4.5 pounds after they have kids. “In my personal experience, I’m guessing it’s closer to 10 to 20,” laughs Rosanna Peña, a Houston mom with two kids. “I’ve got five kids.,” says runner Eric Pearson, “I started them when I was 25, and I started gaining weight a lot in my 30’s.” He gained more than 40 pounds after getting married and 25 of that was after having kids. Since his youngest is now a teenager, Pearson has gotten back into taking care of himself.
