To learn how to adopt a “Ruff Life” dog, visit Dallas Pets Alive.

Picked up as a stray, Timber Jack quickly became a star at Dallas Animal Services with his sunny personality and one floppy ear. But this celebrity status still couldn’t get this German Shepherd mix out of the shelter.

“They kept on giving him extensions. Everyone was just baffled,” says Suleika Bloom, fundraising director for Dallas Pets Alive! “The staff who loved him so much couldn’t understand why no one was adopting him and no one was taking him home.”

Maybe it was being heart worm positive, maybe it was because he was a hefty guy

“He was just big and intimidating looking like a lot of dogs,” says Bloom.

Things were looking bleak, but Dallas Pets Alive decided that’s not how things were going down for Timber Jack.

Don’t let his significant stature fool you, still a cuddly dog.

He’s about 50 pounds so he’s not a dog who just anyone should approach,” says Bloom. “But upon meeting him you find out he’s super friendly, outgoing. He loves people.”

Not to mention he’s got quite a distinctive look

“He has an amazing brindle coat and it gives him a unique look and he has beautiful brown eyes,” says Bloom.

So now its just up to one of you. To holler “Timber!” and give this lumber-jack a home.

He loves people, he is a people dog. There are dogs out there who are ver social and they love other dogs but he loves dogs more than people.
