To learn how to adopt a “Ruff Life” dog, visit Dallas Pets Alive.

Lady Madonna was a lady in waiting. She was about to give birth at Dallas Animal Services, so this pregnant pit needed to get out of the shelter ASAP.

“A shelter is no place for a mom dog about to give birth,” says Suleika Bloom, fundraising director of Dallas Pets Alive!

DPA found a foster family willing and ready to take Lady Madonna and her litter of puppies. They thought they had a week until her due date, but…  “Lady Madonna had different ideas,” says Bloom. “It wasn’t but twelve hours after she went to her new foster home that she gave birth to her puppies.”

This was no Fab Four, more like an unexpected eight.

“All of her puppies are actually named after Beatles’ songs,” says Bloom.

The puppies were adopted pretty quick, but it took Lady Madonna a little longer to find a “furr-ever” home.

“She is very playful, loves to play with her puppies very protective,” says Bloom.

Eventually, this lady got lucky and found a loving family.

“We couldn’t be be happier that Lady Madonna found her “furr-ever” home. After having a whole litter of puppies and seeing them go to their new homes,” says Bloom.

Lady Madonna is now running free!
