MIAMI, FL — After seven long games, Cowboys fans finally got to see a sight they`ve sorely missed: Tony Romo back on the playing field!
Ironically in #9`s return, it was the defense that struck first, putting the Boys on the board with a Rolando McClain pick-six. But Romo soon found his groove and overcame a couple of interceptions to lead Dallas to a 24-14 victory over Miami, snapping the agonizing losing streak!
“It felt good to get back and play football.” said Romo after the game, “It’s one of those games you just have to stand up and fight and outlast them a little bit and our guys did that today.”
Romo had some big time help from the backfield in his comeback game. Darren McFadden plowed his way past 100 yards and helped put the game away in the 4th quarter.
The game came with a little history, too. Romo connected with Dez for the 50th total touchdown between 9 and 88. That’s the most in franchise history, surpassing Troy Aikman and Michael Irvin!
The win moves the Cowboys to 3 and 7 with a short week before they play the Panthers on Thanksgiving Thursday. Thanks to losses by both Washington and Philadelphia, the Boys made gains in the NFC East today. And with six games to go, they`re just two games out of first place.
So there may still bit the slightest bit of life left in this season, even after a stretch of over two months without a win.
Hey, so far, the Boys are undefeated when Romo starts!
