A deadly is attack is something you never want to hear about, especially over the holidays.

But that's exactly what happened to one Indiana man and now there’s nothing but questions surrounding his death. Police say one of his 8-year-old pit bulls attacked and killed him on Christmas day.

Eddie Cahil was home alone with his two dogs -- "Fat Boy" and "Keylo" when the attack happened.

His wife is the one that found him on the floor, covered in blood and bite marks.

She says they gave both dogs bones for Christmas.

The thing is, she said "Fat Boy" who was 85 pounds, was very protective of his bone, and snapping at anyone who tried to take it away.

A police report shows that she told the responding officer she warned her husband to euthanize the dog because it was violent and unpredictable.

The dog has since been put down, finalizing another hit on the reputation of the often misunderstood pit-bull.
