Usually when someone says — “Those shoes are fiyah (fire)” — they mean they’re fresh to def… or in plain English, really nice shoes.

Well, that’s not the case this time.

Sneakerheads everywhere are setting their New Balances on fire after the shoe company congratulated President-elect Donald Trump.

That’s right, they’re burning them!

It’s like the 60s Bra Burning movement — 2016 style.

The new fire challenge started when Matt LeBretton, New Balance’s Vice-President of Public Affairs, told the Wall Street Journal, “The Obama Administration turned a deaf ear to us and frankly with President-Elect Trump, we feel things are going to move in the right direction.”

But LeBretton says put the matches down and wait just one darn minute!

“The statement is correct in the context of trade, not talking about large geo-political anything, but in the context of the Trans Pacific Partnership agreement,” he told Buzzfeed. “Everything I’ve said is in the context of trade.”

Well, whatever he “meant” to say, that’s not stopping social media from going wild.

While New Balance sales may be down, matches and gasoline sales are, well, on fire!
