FORT WORTH -- Tuesday is officially Officer Matt Pearce's homecoming. Back in March, the Fort Worth cop was shot seven times in the line of duty and somehow survived the shootout.
After spending a month in the ICU at John Peter Smith Hospital, Pearce will continue his next phase of recovery in Houston before he's back on the force in Fort Worth.
But first, a huge homecoming for this hero is happening. Fort Worth PD has confirmed they'll escort Pearce and his wife to their home.

Thanks to a huge circle of family, friends and fundraisers by the community, a GoFundMe campaign has raised over $80,000. That's not including money collected through restaurant proceeds and t-shirt sales.
