DALLAS — Warning! You are about to experience “cute overload!"

Dozens of dogs marched their way down Main Street on Sunday for the Pet Parade at the Deep Ellum Arts Festival.

“We host pooch parades across the city, all different times,” said Chris Watts, owner of The Petropolitan and organizer of the parade.”This one wasn`t going to happen this year and we kind of stepped in a helped revive it and keep it going. We just love it!”

Forget about the Easter Bunny! These furry friends showed up in their Easter best.

This parade even had rockers, Wookies, Mr. T and, of course, Bat Pig!

It wasn`t just about looks, though. The pets had skills, from walking on two legs to solving puzzles.

“They`re so smart that they want to stay busy all the time,” Bat-Pig’s owner, Misty Carter, said about owning a pet pig. “He`ll open the cabinet doors, take Tupperware out, that kind of stuff.”

Showing off their personalities wasn`t a problem for these four-legged phenoms. The only challenge for the day was keeping hats and wigs on them.

“We had to buy a lubricant, KY Jelly, to keep his mohawk on!” said Mr. T’s owner, Heather Hewitt. “He`s doing pretty good. I just keep telling him, 'Just a few more minutes. If you can make it with that mohawk on, we`ll be okay.'”

But even with so many cute costumes, only a few would walk away with titles includingMost Creative and Best Overall - which went to our friend Bat Pig!

“Anybody who would sit here for a half an hour and watch dogs in costumes, had a good time!” said Watts.

A doggone good time for sure!
