President Obama spent most of the day in “Big D” on Wednesday, but there wasn’t much fun in this fundraising trip.

Air Force One landed at DFW Airport at about 4 p.m., where Obama met Governor Rick Perry who did just what he said he wouldn’t, shook the president’s hand on the tarmac!

The pair hopped onto marine one and headed over to Love Field Airport, wonder what Perry’s meeting in the sky was like?

Then they met up with Mayor Mike Rawlings and Judge Clay Jenkins to discuss the chaotic conditions at the border.

Jenkins is at the forefront to bring 2,000 undocumented minors to DFW in the next few weeks.

“It is apparently obvious to everyone in the room that the hour and 15 minutes we visited the president is completely was up to speed and locked in on this,” said Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins

The motorcade took him to that Democratic Party fundraiser but some folks think he should have headed to the border not a $10,000 a plate dinner.

“I don’t want him here in Dallas, I want him down at the border, dealing with the problem, seeing what’s actually going on, putting him in the middle of all those people coming across,” said Beth Harrison.

Looks like his detour to avoid the border at all cost might backfire.   Remember what happened when president bush flew over the Katrina disaster?

But even though Obama didn’t head to the border he seems to have played nice with Governor Perry.

“The bottom line is that there is nothing the governor expressed that he would like to see that I have a philosophical objection to,” said President Obama.

For now Obama says he’ll rely on his advisors to keep him informed about what’s happening in South Texas. Obama’s next stop is Austin for yet another fundraiser.
