Neighbors on Midbury Drive in Preston Hollow were surprised this week when the men in black knocked on their door; we’re talking the secret service.

President Obama made his way to the home of Marc Stanley, a Dallas attorney and former chair of the National Jewish Democratic Council for a good ol’ Texas barbeque.

But it’s not just any Texas hoedown; it’s one of two fundraisers Obama is attending while in Texas. But get this; a plate costs you 10 thousand dollars a person.

“Say that again? Oh no that’s okay,” said Margaret Titus.

It’s a little more than this 4th grader; Josh Titus’ allowance will cover also. “Well it’s like 10 thousand dollars a person, so it’s a little on the high end,” said Josh.

Obama’s in Dallas raising cash for house democrats. This comes after harsh criticism from Governor Perry after Obama declined to meet at the border to see firsthand the influx of migrant children.

Instead they meet here in Dallas to talk about the 2,000 kids set to arrive later this month.

In the meantime, folks on Midbury Drive are just excited to catch a glimpse of the big man himself.

“I got up this morning and cut my grass so that it’ll look better for the neighborhood,” said Earl White.

That’s right, gotta look good when the prez is in your hood!
