DALLAS, TX — They say a picture is worth a thousand words; thousands of folks in Dallas hope their picture sends just one message:

“We think everyone deserves to be happy and we believe love is love,” one gay marriage supporter said.

On Saturday, some 3,000 supporters of gay marriage gathered at the Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration. They came together for a photo – not just any photo — the NOH8 photo.

“Today, we have the opportunity to welcome back for the third visit, the NOH8 campaign,” Rev. Casey Shobe, Rector of The Episcopal Church of the Transfiguration, said.

“NOH8 began as part of a movement to sort of overturn that act of discriminating against gay and lesbian couples,” Shobe explained.

Celebrity photographer Adam Bouska, with partner Jeff Parshley, came to capture the fight for marriage equality in the heart of Dallas.

The shoot comes as the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans is expected to rule on three cases that could impact same sex marriage laws in Texas, Louisiana and Mississippi.

“We’re hopeful and confident as well – it’s time,” gay marriage supporter John McGrail said. “We married in October of last year. We support everything to do with the LGBT community.”

The NOH8 campaign makes a statement without saying a word; guess you can call that a picture perfect protest.

“The duct tape on your mouth, and being able to speak out for a cause you can believe in,” Glen Teitlus said.
