DALLAS — Lights, camera action! It’s time to roll out the red carpet.
Some small-sized super-stars hit the Omni Hotel for an Oscar-like charity event, and our friends over at Eyeopener had the best view of the young A-listers.
Night of Superstars celebrated the accomplishments of 20 of the most fascinating kids from Dallas- Fort Worth, who are battling disabling conditions.
“The kids are so excited that it’s finally here. They’ve heard about it for six months or so, and now, it’s becoming real for them,” said Founder, Greg Johnson.
The gala recognized these kid stars for their accomplishments in academics, athletics, community service and how they inspire others every day.
“They get to understand how many people look to them and admire them for their achievements,” Johnson told NewsFix.
Honorary Superstar and Miss Wheelchair Texas Sandy Spoonmore is a perfect example of stamina and determination.
“It’s fantastic, I’m so humbled and honored to be the testament of believing that you can have a great life,” said Spoonmore.
Night of Superstars not only inspires those being honored, it also sends a strong message to the rest of us.
“Never, ever, ever give up,” Spoonmore said. “You can do anything you want.”
