DALLAS -- Talk about a joy ride! This story kinda gives that little phrase a whole new meaning. And it all started Tuesday night - after a man took off in an ambulance from UT Southwestern Medical Center.

His first stop? An adult bookstore off of  Mockingbird. Police got word of its  location and moved in, only to find that the man had already finished there to go to yet another adult bookstore. When police responded to that location, they found he had given them the shake - again!

Well, the dude must've gotten thirsty after his second stop, because he decided it was time to make a stop at a 7-Eleven location in Farmers Branch. That was where police finally caught up with him.

But the man - who isn't being identified - just wasn't gonna go without putting up a fight. He decided to drive the ambulance across a field before crashing it. Then, after a short foot chase that went into a creek, he was arrested.

Hopefully, his little joy ride was worth it... because it didn't come with a happy ending.
