ARLINGTON — A man was shot outside AT&T Stadium after the Dallas Cowboys vs. New England Patriots game Sunday.

Police officers at the event were answering a call about a fight at a tailgate party in parking lot 10 just after 8:00 pm when they heard at least one gunshot, according to Arlington Police Lt. Chris Cook.

The victim, in his early 40’s, was taken to a nearby hospital, then flown to Fort Worth. The apparent shooter was taken into custody and also taken to a hospital; police believe the suspect suffered injuries not during the fight, but rather while fleeing the scene.

Investigators are talking to witnesses about the altercation; it’s believed alcohol may have been involved.

“Anytime you have a big event and you have some alcohol consumption, sometimes there’s some fights, but nothing to this magnitude,” Cook said.
