Local

An inmate at the Dallas County Jail has tested positive for COVID-19.

The Dallas Sheriff’s Office reported the case Wednesday morning and said that the inmate is not currently housed in the jail.

Incarcerated populations have been a concern during the outbreak, leading some jails to release inmates to prevent the spread of the virus.
