DALLAS — When it comes to yoga on a Saturday morning, it has many of us saying namast’ay in bed but add a little booze to your downward dog that will get you saying namaslay all day!

Now we know, “pass me a cold brew” isn’t something you’ll typically hear while in tree pose but Community Beer Company and CubeFit Yoga managed to combine headstands and hops in perfect harmony this Saturday morning.

“The idea really came from people always interested in doing something new and you want to create an idea that brings people in for fitness but also rewards them with a little bit of fun,” says Shanna Lee of CubeFit yoga.

When you think about it, these days, people love to pair beer with almost any activity. There’s beer and 5k’s and there’s even beer on bikes.

The same goes for yoga. You’ve heard of yoga at the park, yoga with your baby and now yoga and wine.

That’s a good one!

So, it was only a matter of time before yoga poses would be followed by barrels of beer.

For the ones who are skeptical, here’s how it works. It’s a once a month, 60-minute class. You will have a real yoga class with a real instructor. The only difference is, after the pigeon pose, you get a pint!

“I think that there’s a misconception out there in the yoga world, that you know, everybody’s super clean and vegan. We yogis like to party too, don’t worry! And I think beer is a great compliment to that,” says yogi Amanda MacManus.

To some, this may seem like an unlikely combination but to those attending it’s a match made in yogi heaven!
