DALLAS – Whoever said talk is cheap must not be familiar with the Internet, because slinging virtual mud sticks.
Ask newly-elected Keller ISD trustee Jo Lynn Haussmann. Her Islamaphobic comments about Southlake City Council member Shahid Shafi just might cost her position.
In a Facebook post, Haussmann scolded voters for electing a Muslim, saying “What a shame!!!!”
The North Texas chapter of the Council on American-Islam Relations isn’t buying her apology. They’re calling for her resignation.
“The Keller Community deserves a trustee that is committed to diversity and sound judgment regardless of race, religion and sound origin,” said a member of the organization.
The buck doesn’t stop there. Keller residents are using Haussmann’s venting mechanism against her by starting a Facebook petition: “Jo Lynn Haussmann Must Go!”
Since the malicious mayhem hit the fan, the Keller School Board has issued a statement:
“We want our community to know that this behavior by a board member is unacceptable, and that it will be addressed.”
Sounds like the racial ball of fire Haussmann threw, may cost her the game.
