DALLAS — He’s one of the most sought-after wedding planners in the country. Dallas-based Donnie Brown has created an empire in the wedding planning business.

“I love what I do. I can’t imagine doing anything else,” said Brown, a west Texas native.

If you feel like you’ve seen him somewhere before, it’s because you probably have. He starred in “Whose Wedding is it Anyway?” on the Style Network for 11 seasons. He’s also been featured in every major bridal magazine out there. Bottom line, if you have questions about weddings, he’s got answers.

“The skill is to get inside someone’s head, because they can see it, but they often can’t communicate it. So, I have to get inside their head and actually capture what it is that they’re envisioning. And that’s not always easy to do,” Brown explained to NewsFix.

He certainly makes it look easy, with over 2,500 weddings under his belt. Like any business, wedding planning is constantly changing with new challenges popping up all the time.

He says the social media aspect of weddings is huge right now, but there’s a big problem with that. “The bride starts walking down the aisle, and 50 or 60 people stand up with their iPad camera and iPhone cameras. And it’s horrible! You can’t even see the bride.”

However, where there’s a problem, Donnie Brown can find a solution. And that’s just one of the many reasons why he’s at the top of his profession.
