DALLAS -- Ahh, Thanksgiving.  A time for the whole family to gather around the dinner table, and try not to argue about politics.

To help with that, we talked to Veronica Sites, a conflict resolution specialist who wrote the book - or at least, a book - on getting along, and how to keep little disagreements from turning into a disaster.

"The disaster is very confrontational," said Sites. "When we don't categorize opinions, facts, and what is true to the situation.  And what is true to the situation is that you're family."

Sites reminded us that whether you're still "For Her," or ready to "Make America Great Again," that's just, like, your opinion, man.

"It's not going to ruin the meal to recognize the differences of opinions are because everyone is unique and different," Sites said. "We can all sense when we're starting to get tense, escalate, compress, or just pressurize, bite your tongue... Manage and take control of that, because emotions make bad choices.  You've got to begin with the end in mind - how do you want the conversation at the table to result?  In complete and total chaos, or so that you have peace within yourself?  Maybe you have to agree to disagree."

In other words, play nice, y'all.  And try to have a happy Thanksgiving!
