DALLAS -- With the attacks in the Oak Lawn area, and the government trying to fix bathroom laws that aren't broken, a place for the LGBT community to call home is a much-needed sight for sore eyes.

Well, that day finally arrived in North Texas!

Saturday, Dallas celebrated the opening of the newest LGBT community center off of Cedar Springs in Oak Lawn.

The $8.7 million project is a great place to hang out. It even has wall-to-wall art showing the history and influences of the North Texas LGBT community.

The facility also features youth, family, and senior programs, as well as some  mental health programs.

And it seems like everything you see actually means something. Even the building's shape,  a triangle, symbolizes the perseverance of the community.

With all of this positive light on the LGBT community, it's hard not to see the rainbow at the end of the storm.
