DALLAS — It’s fall, and fall means the State Fair of Texas. As the gates open over at Fair Park this year, the Lone Star state’s celebration is gonna have an old world feel.

“For the first time in the US we’re presenting Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel,” said Martin Biallas the CEO of Special Entertainment Events. “They are original recreations in the original sizes of all of Michelangelo’s masterpieces that he did for and in the Sistine Chapel.”

While the actual paintings in the Vatican are 60 feet up on the ceiling, this full scale replica brings the artwork back down to ground level!

“You’re going to get a better view of these, than any bishop, archbishop or pope ever had,” remarked Biallas.

The exhibit costs eight dollars extra on top of your State Fair admission, but that’s a heck of a lot cheaper than booking a flight to Rome!

So in between the fried food, cattle calling and Texas-OU tailgating, you might want to take a minute to get a little cultural and take a quick trip to Italy and back… the corn dogs will still be waiting for you when you get out.
