DALLAS - If your New Year's Eve celebrations were on fire, you may have woken up in the morning feeling not so hot.

January, 1st has become known as National Hangover Day, and it’s taken on a life of it’s own on social media.

So, what’s the way to beat the post-party blues?

“I’m a seasoned vet I’d like to think,” Connor Grant told NewsFix. “I’ll usually put a can of coke next to my bed with a couple ibuprofen. After that, it’s time to hit a smoothie.”

“Definitely coming to taco diner to get a good breakfast burritos or something,” Matt Gwyn added.

But does any of it actually work?

According to WEB MD: like the common cold a hangover has no true cure, but much of the pain comes from dehydration. Drinking something non-alcoholic is your best bet.

Greasy food slows the absorption of alcohol into the body; it’s more of a night before than a morning after remedy.

Of course, there is one fool-proof way to beat a hangover: just don’t get wasted the night before.
