Texas Governor Greg Abbott took to Twitter to let it be known he’s not fond of John Creuzot’s plans.
In his plan, the district attorney’s office will dismiss first time marijuana cases, as well as theft cases of personal items under $750 that are committed out of “necessity” — such as food.
Dallas Co. District Attorney stokes crime by refusing to prosecute theft of personal items worth less than $750. If someone is hungry they can just steal some food. If cold, steal a coat. Where does it end? It's wealth redistribution by theft. #txlege https://t.co/dqfYogr4NX
