Google is Worth the Entire Russian Stock Market

We’ve been prevented from watching the imaginary downfall of one dictator via The Interview, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy seeing another lose his shirt. That’s because Russia’s economy is tanking so badly that it’s now been surpassed by a search engine — Google. That’s correct; the same website you use to use to look up pictures of Kim Kardashian breaking the Internet is now worth $15 billion more than Russia.

Due to the recent dip in oil prices, Russia’s currency, the ruble, has plummeted in value, leading President Vladimir Putin to lash out Thursday during his annual press conference. He blamed the West for his country’s terrible economy and at one point vowed that the ‘Russian bear wouldn’t become a stuffed animal.’
