JACKSON, MS — It pulled on your heartstrings: the story of a three year-old girl, asked to leave KFC because the scars on her face from a pitbull attack were scaring people.
Turns out, the heartbreaking story, might be a chicken fried fraud.
The Mississippi newspaper reports that security footage doesn’t place the girl, Victoria Wilcher, or her grandma, Kelly Mullins, in any KFC in the area on the day the toddler was supposedly asked to leave.
This comes after KFC apologized and donated $30,000 to the family for little Victoria’s medical expenses. So far, more than $135,000 has been raised through online donations on the site gofundme. That’s a lot of chicken wings!
KFC is investigating, but says even if it turns out to be totally bogus, they’ll still honor the donation. After all, what would the colonel do?
