FITZGERALD, Ga. -- Georgia police are looking for three suspects who shot and killed a Georgia lottery winner during a home invasion.
Craigory Burch, Jr.'s girlfriend, Jasmine Hendricks, is sure the robbers were after some of the more than $400,000 of Burch's winnings. "Ever since he hit the lottery, we kept getting calls, text messages, all that, saying, 'Be careful because people are out for him - to rob him,'" Hendricks said.
And they were. It began with a shotgun blowing open the door to Burch's home and three armed and masked me running in.
"When they came in, he said, 'Don't do it, bro. Don't do it in front of my kids.' He said, 'Please don't do it in front of my kids and my old lady. Please don't do that, bro. Please don't.' He said, 'I'll give you my bank card,'" Hendricks said.
The robbers shot Burch, killing him instantly, once they realized his wallet was not in the pants.
