ARLINGTON - Looks like the final chapter has finally ended for a local Fifty Shades of Grey publisher.
Jennifer Pedroza, one of the four partners of the start-up publishing group, The Writer`s Coffee Shop, won a lawsuit against co-publisher Amanda Hayward.
Pedroza claimed that when Hayward sold the rights of the raunchy trilogy to Random House, she was tied off from receiving any of the profits, talk about putting a kink in a relationship. We`re talking about profits from a book that's sold more than a hundred million copies. guess you can say Hayward tried to pull the wool over Pedroza`s eyes.
Thursday, a jury ruled that Hayward had committed fraud and Pedroza is entitled to her share. She'll find out later just how much that share will be, but we'd imagine it'll be a pretty big payday.
Turns out the "Fifty Shades" fictional drama had a real-life drama to go with it. We`re sure Pedroza doesnt mind trading in the shades of grey for that one shade of green.
