DALLAS, TX – With heavy hearts they came; each with their own fond memories of Marisol Espinosa.

The mother of three was loved by so many, yet her life end so tragically.

Espinosa was reported missing on December 29, 2015. She was headed to work. She never made it. Last Sunday, almost three month after her disappearance, her remains were found under a bridge near Dowdy Ferry Road.

Her family, wrought with grief, now begin the long and arduous process of healing.

“I think finally having her with us, when they found her, they took her away, when she first went missing, they took her away from us, so now that we have her back with us, she’s in our presence, it’s bitter sweet,” Wendy Lopez told NewsFix.

Lopez is Marisol’s cousin.

Lopez spoke to us on Sunday, the day of Marisol’s visitation and rosary.

“I’ve had my moments; I still have my moments, but it’s still pretty tough because of where she is now. Maybe as time passes, it’ll be easier, but it’s hard.”

“We really don’t know what happened, other than her life was taken away, I know for me, I had a feeling from the beginning she was gone.”

Dallas Police continue to investigate Marisol’s case. Her family have long suspected her ex-boyfriend has been linked to her disappearance. He hasn’t been seen since Marisol vanished in December.

“The stronger ones are at peace with what’s going on, the one’s that aren’t so strong, we have to keep up and hold together. They’re the ones that are numb.”

“Whatever’s been done to her, she didn’t deserve it. So, we don’t want anybody to think they can do this to my cousin and get away with it because that’s not going to happen.”
