ATLANTA, GA – Computers, tablets and smartphones. These tech gadgets are supposed to make life easier, not become a pain in the neck; literally.

Insert “tech pain.” It’s the reason why a lot of people are smarting from their smartphones.

“We’re dubbing it smart phone finger, some other problems are mouse tendonitis, or sometimes just a tablet neck,” said Dr. Sharon Bergquist, of the Emory School of medicine.

Tablet neck? That sounds more dangerous that texting while walking. What’s worse? Fixing such a major bug isn’t as easy as pressing control, alt, delete. There are adjustments that have to be made.

“You want the top of your screen to be roughly at or just below eye level,” said Dr. Bergquist. “You want your hips, knees and ankles at 90% angles and you want your feet flat on the floor.”

It seems like people will need a hard drive to remember all of that information. Maybe it’s best we go back to the old way of doing things.

Hashtag: give it a rest.
