NEW YORK, NY- When you think candy, you think Halloween or Valentine's Day, right?  It can take a lot of chocolate to sweet talk your bae, right? But guess who beats them all? The Easter Bunny. Kind of hard to believe, eh?

Well, last year, Americans bought $823 million dollars worth of Peeps, chocolate bunnies and creme filled eggs, according to Nielsen.

In case you're curious, that's 146 million pounds of candy.

Noooo... that's not what you'll see on your scale, but it is a half-pound of candy for every man, woman & child in the entire U.S.  Turns out,  the #1 selling candy, that isn't chocolate, is Peeps. They've been the hands-down favorite for 20 years and now they come in 18 fun-filled flavors, like peppermint, hot chocolate and even pumpkin spice.

If you're feeling fat about now, peep this:  Every single day we buy $45 million dollars of non-seasonal candy like those chocolate bars they put right by the check out counter.

Hey, we can't sugar coat this!

The Confectioner's Association is predicting they will more than double last year's sales this Easter, selling a whopping $2.4 billion dollars worth of candy.

That is a lot of chocolate bunnies, peeps!
