HOLLYWOOD, Calif. -- When the Oscar red carpet is rolled out, the infamous fashion police are in full force! They give celebs thumbs up or deliver a withering, 'What the hell were you thinking?'
Well, the fashion po-po gave Disney star Zendaya a fashion faux paus ticket!
Giuliana Rancic was on duty for E’s red carpet patrol when she called out the K.C. Undercover star saying she “...feels like she smells of patchouli oil ... or maybe weed.”
Pretty sure Rancic wasn't targeting her classy white Vivienne Westwood gown or those sparkling Chopard earrings.
Yeah, it was a clear dig towards those long faux dreadlocks flowing down Zendaya’s back.
Soooo... Did Rancic go too far? Well, some people thought she was channeling her inner Joan Rivers, including Zendaya. She took to Instagram, calling Rancic’s comment 'ignorant' and 'outrageously offensive. She also listed a lot of people who rock dreads, don’t smell of weed, and happen to be pretty successful.

Whoopi Goldberg, another successful dread head, gave her view, siding with Zendaya and telling Rancic she owed the 18-year-old an apology!
Well, she got it. Rancic tweeted she was commenting on Zendaya's bohemian look, saying it “had nothing to do with race and never would!!”
Dear @Zendaya, I'm sorry I offended you and others. I was referring to a bohemian chic look. Had NOTHING to do with race and NEVER would!!!

She then made a lengthier TV apology to Zendaya on E! News Tuesday night!
"I want to address something that is weighing heavily on my heart," said Rancic.
Well, whether her apology is accepted or not, it's clear that the Fashion Police should've been the ones cited, this time!
