CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA - The Land Down Under is about to find out what it means to live the high life. On Wednesday the Australian Parliament passed a measure legalizing medical marijuana, making it a g'day for patients who prefer cannabis-inspired treatments.

Amendments to Australia`s Narcotic Drugs Act will allow marijuana to be legally grown for medical and scientific purposes. Under the new plan patients who have a valid prescription can possess and use medicinal marijuana products that are legally grown and manufactured.

The revision now puts cannabis in the same category of restricted medicinal drugs as morphine. There are even trials being conducted into a cannabis-based drug called Epidolex, which focuses on treating children who have epilepsy.

But if Aussies want to toke up recreationally, they’ll have to wait for another day. The new measure is strictly for medicinal use.

Hey, sometimes you can't have it all but, at least, those who can partake have some pretty interesting food options for munchies.

Guess you can't keep a good weed down under.
