DEEP ELLUM – Ever heard of a Pop-Up? You know, like a Pop-Up shop or park? Well, if you still haven’t caught on, you’ll just have to pop up in Deep Ellum to check it out.
“Well, there’s been a lot of talk in the neighborhood about making Crowdus a park — a common space, a green space,” Brandon Castillo with Ash & Lime Strategies explained.
In exchange for a few parking spots along Crowdus Street, volunteers have created a green-space experience that will feature way more than a swing and slide.
“We’ll have multiple stages up, we’ll have performers, we’ll have circus acts, we’ll have movies, we’ll have public art and places for people to sit,” Rik Adamski with Ash & Lime added.
But, this evergreen idea isn’t the first to Pop-Up in the city. Let`s déjà vu back to 2011 when Downtown Dallas turned parallel parking spots into mini-parks.
Hey, maybe this time the Pop-Up project will gain the potential to stick around.
But don’t wait too long, Crowdus Park Pop-Up Plaza will only be in place for four days before it pops out.
