DALLAS, TX -- Hockey season may be over for the Dallas Stars, but that isn’t stopping some of the team’s players from going to work! On Saturday, Stars’ defenseman partnered with the Dallas Stars Foundation to help pack food at the North Texas Food Bank.

“[The Dallas Stars Foundation does] and unbelievable job. They do so many things for the community and so many things around Dallas that it’s always nice.” said Benn, “Whenever we get asked, it’s not just me it’s our whole team, we jump on the opportunity to come out and give back.

For Benn, it’s just a way to keep giving back to the Dallas fans.

“We get treated so well by the Stars fans and the community that I thought I’d just come out here and give back” said Benn.

And, while he’s still following the NHL season, Benn would much rather be playing in the Stanley Cup right now than watching it.

“It makes me frustrated but it’s entertaining.” said Benn, “I’m a big hockey fan as a hockey player so it’s just nice to watch.”

Hopefully, this time next year Jordie and the gang will be bringing back Lord Stanley’s cup for the whole community.
