Dallas PD Cop Accused of Getting Drunk on the Job

DALLAS -- A Dallas Police officer has found himself on the other side of the law. DPD says they arrested one of their own Saturday afternoon on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.

In a statement, Dallas Police said Officer James Covey was on duty at the time of his arrest. The statement continues:

"Officer Covey has been on the department since January 2008, and is currently assigned to third watch at the Southeast Patrol Division. He has been placed on Administrative Leave pending an Internal Affairs Division investigation."
