NORTH TEXAS – It seems the whole Sony Interview/North Korea situation went from 0 to 100 – real quick.
"This is something that is being treated as serious national security matter,” White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said.
You don’t say.
Some folks now fear ‘cyber’ warfare could be lurking online, but should we be scared?
It’s no secret holidays drive cyber sales for businesses, but does the Sony hack have some worried they’re going to be the next virtual victim?
"Technology has two sides, you can use for good or you can use for bad," Dr. Zhiqiang Lin said. Lin is a Computer Science Professor at UT Dallas.
Okay, let’s just say it looks like some folks are freaked out with Firewall protection fears, or a lack there-of.
As you can probably imagine, nailing the cyber nerds behind those high-tech hacks – isn’t so easy.
"The bad guys can pretend to be our guy right? Because (the) digital world is difficult to trace back," Lin said.
For that reason, a lot of help is needed.
"There (is a) big demand in the cyber security professionals,” Lin said.
Hear that college kids? Sounds like cyber security equals job security. Wonder if Firewall protection companies are having an early Christmas?
Either way, looks like this holiday season has gone from very merry, to very scary for some.
