CARROLLTON -- As convenient and secure as ride sharing services are, there`s always an inherent risk when getting into the car of someone you don`t know.

In July, Arnold Pinilla and his girlfriend got into what they thought was their Lyft driver`s car but they would soon tragically find out they were in the wrong vehicle.

“A fight ensued between the driver and Arnold and it ended in Arnold`s death,” says Jolene DeVito, Police Media Specialist for the Carrollton Police Department.

Cops have now released a sketch of the murderer based off of the description provided by Arnold`s girlfriend in hopes that someone can give them more clues to solve the case. DeVito described the suspect, “Hispanic man, mid-thirties probably. He is on the shorter side, 5`3' to 5`6', slender build.”

Arnold`s mother, Esperanza Balaguera, and sister, Claudia Reyes, are still distraught over his loss. Reyes translated her Spanish speaking mother’s grief, “She doesn`t understand how someone can kill, can take a life like nothing with no remorse.”

Arnold’s mother also shared that her son was always helping everybody, no matter who they were. Now she`s hoping her son receives the help he needs from the public to bring his murderer to justice.

If you recognize the man in this sketch or have any knowledge about the crime please call Carrollton PD at 972-466-3333.
